Vaddi

Vaddi calculator: rupee interest per ₹100

In many Telugu homes and villages, interest is spoken as “rupees per hundred”. ₹2 vaddi means you pay ₹2 every month for each ₹100 borrowed. Vaddi turns that into exact amounts in seconds, and keeps a record of every loan you give or take.

How rupee vaddi is calculated

Worked example

  1. You lend ₹50,000 at ₹2 vaddi for 6 months.
  2. Monthly interest: 50,000 ÷ 100 × 2 = ₹1,000.
  3. Interest for 6 months: ₹1,000 × 6 = ₹6,000.
  4. Amount to collect at the end: ₹50,000 + ₹6,000 = ₹56,000.
  5. If it is settled after 6 months and 15 days instead, add half a month: ₹500 more, so ₹56,500.

Frequently asked questions

What does “₹2 vaddi” mean?

It means ₹2 interest every month for every ₹100. On ₹10,000 that is ₹200 a month.

How do I convert rupee vaddi to a yearly percentage?

Multiply the rupee rate by 12. ₹1.5 vaddi is 18% a year; ₹2 vaddi is 24% a year.

Is this simple interest or compound interest?

The rupee vaddi method above is simple interest: interest is charged only on the principal, not on earlier interest.

How are extra days counted?

Each extra day is counted as one-thirtieth of a month. 15 extra days add half of one month’s interest.

Is Vaddi free?

Yes. The calculator is free to use in the browser, and the Android app is free on Google Play.

Is my loan data private?

Records are stored under your own sign-in and are not shown to anyone else. The calculator works without signing in.
